In Queensland’s Central Highlands, Project Feast introduces sugar beet as a rotational winter crop on existing cotton farms; a new income stream for growers that fits the winter fallow, with no displacement of existing cotton and no new land clearing.
Convert the crop into sustainable aviation fuel
Sugar beet is processed into bioethanol and then converted into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and renewable diesel using Honeywell UOP’s proven Alcohol-to-Jet (ATJ) technology, with biogas produced as a secondary product.
Project Feast is Queensland’s most comprehensive and scalable project for producing SAF from agricultural feedstock; partnering with major Central Highlands growers to turn rotational crops into the clean aviation fuel the world is seeking.
