In 2025, the Queensland Parliament initiated an inquiry into the development of a sugarcane-based biofuels industry in the State through the Primary Industries and Resources Committee.

SKY Renewables was pleased to have played a leading role from the earliest days of the inquiry, demonstrating strong support amongst the Burdekin sugar industry, with a number of stakeholders making submissions to the Inquiry.
